Year 1 – Student Education

The student education strand will provide you with an introduction to academic learning and teaching development at the University, and the promotion of teaching excellence through the University platforms of the Leeds Curriculum, LeedsforLife and the Partnership.   You will be encouraged to take a scholarly approach to student education practice and supported to plan your route to professional recognition against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in HE 2011 (UKPSF).

*We expect all UAFs to attend these sessions.

 

Developing Excellence and Innovation in Student Education at Leeds*

An overview of the Leeds Curriculum, LeedsforLife and the Partnership and how this works in practice.  You will have an opportunity to meet key figures leading student education at the University as part of a workshop covering:
• strategies to engage students as partners in learning;
• how best to translate research into opportunities for students; and
• consideration of your areas for development in student education practice.

Professional Recognition and Progression

A workshop to support you in applying for professional recognition against the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and support of learning in Higher Education (UKPSF) to achieve FHEA/SFHEA status.
